I know we would all love to take professional pictures of our children every holiday or milestone. Okay, maybe every day.. ha! However, most of us can't afford to hire a professional photographer every time we want pictures done. I am not a professional photographer by any means but here are some tips on how to do DIY Photos for the amateur photographer!
TIP 1: A cute outfit! The outfit is EVERYTHING! Enough said.
TIP 2: PROPS! You don't need a lot. One to three different props goes along way for your photos! Let your creativity shine!
TIP 3: Natural Light! The more natural light you can get into the area for photos the better!
TIP 4: Good Camera! Most iPhones now have a built in professional lens. So they work just fine for DIY photos. However, if you are ever in the market for a good camera, we got a great deal at Costco for our Canon Rebel T5i! (Black Friday Deals for the WIN!) It takes really great quality photos and will last a long time!
TIP 5: Edit/Filter! You can filter and edit your photo right onto most newer iPhones, which works really well! Shadow and Brightness edit are the top two I end up using. As far as filters go, you should pick whichever one preferable. More natural the better in my opinion!
TIP 6: Rattlers/Snacks! We know how hard it can be to get kids to cooperate for pictures. The younger, the easier as it may only take the shake of a rattler or funny noises to get their attention! For the older ones or multiple kids, possibly offer their favorite snack if they seem opposed!
It really is that simple! It doesn't take a lot and the best part is, you get these memories that last a lifetime. Take a look at some of my most recent holiday photos!
